AIMA is the Alternative Investment Management Association headquarter in London with APAC team Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney. As the global representative of the alternative investment industry with 1,900 corporate members in over 60 countries. AIMA’s fund manager members collectively manage more than US$2 trillion in assets as of 28 Feb 2018.
AIMA provides leadership in industry initiatives such as advocacy, policy and regulatory engagement, educational programmes and sound practice guides, raise media and public awareness of the value of the industry, develop skills and education standards and is a co-founder of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designation (CAIA) – the first and only specialised educational standard for alternative investment specialists.
AIMA also incorporates the Alternative Credit Council (ACC) to help firms focused in the private credit and direct lending space. The ACC currently represents over 100 members that manage US$350 billion of private credit assets globally. The ACC is the sole global representative trade association the interests of the private credit and non-bank finance participants in asset management. AMAC and AIMA signed MOU On 18 June 2014 in Beijing with Mr Liu Jianjun, Deputy Director General, Private Fund Supervising Department of AMAC and Mr Tang Xiaodong, International Affairs Department of CSRC to attend the ceremony which witness and mark the more strategic relationship and cooperation in exchange of global regulatory trend, research, events and training etc.
IAMAC and AIMA signed MOU in Beijing at the recent 2017 Global Asset Management Symposium on 15 Nov 2017. It outlines areas of cooperation and collaboration, including educational programmes and joint events into a more strategic level. AIMA will devote diversified effort in working with IAMAC in relevant research and application of alternative investment asset, new technology, regulatory trend in China and globe wise which to achieve win-win in such key areas of alternative direct investment, private equity, real estate investment, risk management etc.
