Hakan Eroglu is the Global Open Banking Lead for Advisors at Mastercard Data & Services. He is an expert for Open Data and Services Ecosystems, Open Banking Regulation, API Standardization, Instant and Frictionless Payments. Hakan is a recognized thought leader in public media and speaker in his area of expertise. He brings more than 11 years of project experience in shaping Open Banking strategies, building API-based uses cases and business models, and designing digital payment schemes in Europe, Latin America and Asia. Hakan served as an advisor to an Asian regulator on Open Banking regulation. With lessons learned in Europe, he provided advisory on how to best get banks engaged in a more collaborate regulation approach. Mr. Eroglu also helped a large Chinese bank in HK on Open Banking strategy and readiness and the selection of API use cases and business case, and another large bank in Thailand on Open Banking strategy and API enablement. Mr. Eroglu joins Mastercard from Accenture where he served as the Global Open Banking & PSD2 Expert Lead helping banks and payment service providers across the globe to tackle regulation, going beyond it and turn it into competitive advantages through new innovation and services using AI and Instant Payments. Mr. Eroglu is a board member of the Berlin Group NextGenPSD2 Advisory Board, the Swiss Commission for Financial Standardization (SKSF), the Open Banking Working Group of the Euro Banking Association (EBA) and author of position papers, articles and consultations on PSD2, Open Banking and Fintechs. Mr. Eroglu holds a German Diploma in Computer Sciences from Darmstadt University of Technology in Germany.
