Dato’ Dr. Vijayaindiran A/L R. Viswalingam is a seasoned leader in the port and logistics industry, with over 25 years of experience in port planning, development, and strategic management. Currently serving as the General Manager of the Penang Port Commission since 2023, Dato’Dr. Vijayaindiran has previously held senior roles at Port Klang Authorities, including Assistant General Manager and Senior Manager for Planning and Development. His work has driven substantial advancements in Malaysia’s port infrastructure and operations, with notable achievements such as developing the Penang Port Development Master Plan (2023–2053) and creating the digital platform Port Klang Net, which streamlined port efficiencies and operations. Dato’Dr. Vijayaindiran’s academic background includes a Doctorate in Business Administration from California Metropolitan University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Cardiff Metropolitan University, with an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from University Utara Malaysia. His expertise has made him a sought-after speaker at international conferences, where he has presented on key topics in port logistics and regional cooperation, such as at the Asia Ports Conference and the United Nations Port Performance Expert Group Meeting. He is actively involved in professional and social organizations, including the ASEAN Ports Association, the International Association of Ports and Harbors, and several Malaysian community organizations. Fluent in English, Malay, and Tamil, Dato’Dr. Vijayaindiran continues to be a prominent figure in Malaysia's maritime industry, contributing to infrastructure projects, industry-academia collaborations, and sustainability efforts that shape the region’s port and logistics future.
