Yue Zhang is a Partner and Managing Director of The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). She joined BCG in 2007 in Stuttgart, Germany and transferred to China in 2010.
Ms. Zhang is a core member of the leadership team for BCG’s Financial Institutions practice in Greater China. She has worked with many leading banks and insurers, across a wide range of topics such as strategy, digital, big data, operations. Ms. Zhang has co-authored a number of BCG key publications, including a new book titled New Era of Personal Finance, reports including China Wealth Management Market (2015, 2016), China Personal Credit Investigation Report 2015, Retail Banking 2020, Big Data in Financial Services, The Rise of Digital Finance in China: New Drivers, New Game, New Strategy etc.
Highlights of her recent work include:
· Reorganization of a major insurance group in China
· Wealth Management strategy for a large bank in China
· Digital projects for various financial institutions, incl. strategy and implementation
· Digital banking strategy which created the first Direct Bank in China for a large Chinese bank including design of business and operating model
· Strategy for one of the newly founded privately-owned banks
· Portfolio strategy for a top state-owned conglomerate with FS and non-FS businesses
· 5-year strategic planning for a city commercial bank in China
· Whole bank operations transformation planning for one of the Big 4 banks in China
· PMO for a large scale turn-around program in Asia Pacific for the Private Banking arm of a leading global bank.
Ms. Zhang holds a Master degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and a Bachelor degree in German Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She was also an exchange student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), USA.
