Leslie's practice areas include aviation, litigation, arbitration, insurance, maritime, and corporation. From 2009 to 2010, Leslie was selected by the Ministry of Justice and the National Lawyers' Association to participate in the prestigious Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme with ten other outstanding lawyers. During his one year in London, Leslie worked in a world-renowned law firm and a leading Barristers' Chambers and studied English law at the University of London.
After returning to China in 2010, Leslie joined the Shanghai representative office of a leading international law firm, which is a global leader in areas of aviation, financial leasing, insurance, energy and maritime. In the past seven years since he has been with the firm, he has handled a good number of complex multi-jurisdictional cases, covering areas of aviation, international investment arbitrations, finance lease, and restructuring of large enterprises etc, many of which have significant impact in both China and abroad. He counts amongst his clients large airline companies, trading companies, financial institutions, insurance and reinsurance companies, energy companies, commodities companies, shipping and logistics companies. Leslie also has extensive experience in foreign investment and foreign legal services, which involves the establishment of foreign-invested enterprises, negotiation of foreign investment projects, as well as drafting and reviewing foreign business contracts, etc. Leslie has handled various international investment arbitrations and cases relating to reorganization of large shipping enterprises, and also acts as a regular outside counsel to a number of world's top 500 companies and state-owned enterprises. He has therefore a very good understanding of the business model, risk management and dispute resolution in the aviation field. Leslie has given speeches in various international conferences including the Global Counsel Conference in Geneva and the Lawasia Global Conference. He is the co-author of the "Aviation Liability" section of the “Getting The Deal Through Guide”, which is a global outstanding Law Journal.
