Javier Vicedo is Representative for the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for China and North Asia since February of 2016. From this position he supports regulatory exchanges between EASA and aviation stakeholders in North Asia across multiple domains of competence. Throughout his 20 years career in the aviation industry Javier has worked in Europe, North America and Asia. He has held positions spanning from research & technology to business development across multiple sectors including satellite equipment, military systems and commercial aircraft. Previous to his work at EASA, Javier held the position of Chief of Staff and Senior Director Business Development at Airbus in China. Concurrently, he was also Chairman of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) Aviation & Aerospace Working Group. From this position he assisted in the setup of the EU-CHINA Aviation Partnership Project between EASA and the Civil Aviation Authority of China (CAAC), a collaborative platform which provides opportunities for aviation experts from industry and regulatory authorities to exchange on contemporary matters related to aviation safety. Javier holds a PhD in Engineering from Cambridge University and is still engaged in education by giving lectures on aviation and aerospace to University students and aviation professionals.
