Katrin Rupalla was taking the position of Head of Development, BMS R&D China since January 2016, responsible for leading the R&D matrix team to shape the China Development strategy and plan. Katrin joined BMS in May 2012 as the Vice President of EU Global Regulatory Science.. Katrin has extensive experience in drug development and global regulatory affairs.
Katrin started her career in drug development 1997 by joining Hoffmann-La Roche as Regulatory Affairs Manager, Far East, with responsibility for managing 20 Asian markets, including China, India, and Taiwan. Following this she held various position in global drug development both at Roche headquarters in Switzerland and in the United States. Prior to joining BMS, Katrin worked for Celgene International as Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs, with responsibility for strategic oversight of all therapeutic areas of oncology, hematology and immune/inflammatory diseases for the European Union.
Katrin received her degree in Pharmacy and her Ph.D. in CNS Pharmacology from Philipps University in Marburg, Germany. She was awarded her ECPM/EUCOR diploma in pharmaceutical medicine from the Universities of Basel, Strasbourg, and Freiburg, and earned a Masters of Business Administration at Jones International University, Colorado, USA.
Katrin is a German citizen and lives in Shanghai with her husband.
