Dr. Norbert Prenzel is Head of Business Development and Licensing at SOTIO. In his role he is seeking partnership opportunities for SOTIO’s innovative oncology pipeline including in-licensing, co-development and investments.


Previously Norbert was Licensing Director at Amgen where he was responsible for Amgen’s business development interactions with life science investors and Biotech and Pharma companies in Europe.He joined Amgen through the acquisition of MicrometInc., where he acted as Director Business Development overseeing BD and alliance management activities around new and existing BiTE antibody collaborations. 


Prior to joining Micromet, Dr. Prenzel worked as BD and Licensing Consultantfor various European Biotech companies at Staatz Business Development & Strategy. 


Dr. Prenzel was co-founder of U3 Pharma AG where he served as Program Director and Business Development Manager. He managed the BD activities that finally led to the acquisition of U3 Pharma by Daiichi Sankyo in 2008.

 

Dr. Prenzel did his PhDi n Axel Ullrich’s department at the Max-Planck Institute for Biochemistry in Martinsried. In addition, he received an MBA degree from WHU/Kellogg School of Management. For his doctoral thesis on signal transduction and cancer he was awarded the Junior Research Award of the Max Planck Society.
