Catherine Zhou is EVP, Head of Consumer and Digital Bank at East West Bank. She is responsible for all aspects of the growth, execution and operations of the retail business which includes branch network, consumer lending business, wealth management and private banking.
Catherine leads the digital banking business at East West Bank. She is building a completely native digital stack to transform the way that globally mobile population interacts with financial institutions. Velo by East West BankTM launched publicly in April 2019.
East West Bank is ranked among the top 25 largest banks in the US by market capitalization and is ranked #8 in “America’s 100 Best Banks” by Forbes in 2019.
Before joining East West Bank, Catherine was a senior partner at PwC and served as the Digital Advisory Leader with PwC’s Financial Services practice. She is deeply connected to the financial centers in New York, Asia and Europe while resides in Silicon Valley, San Francisco the Bay area where her root has been, working with start ups and technology giants in developing digital first businesses.
Catherine holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University, M.S. and B.S in Industrial Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing.
Catherine is an active speaker at industry conferences, she was the keynote speaker for Women in Payments 2019, she chaired the Netfinance Conference 2018 on Mobility and Innovation, she was the keynote speaker for American Banking Association Marketing Conference 2018. She is the Co-author of “The Social Media Management Handbook”.
